Read a direction, then examine its conditions
The Devil exposes a bargain that offers immediate satisfaction while narrowing your freedom. Desire itself is not the problem; the question is what you keep giving up to obey it. Notice the loop between temptation, justification, and cost.
Use an outcome position responsibly
An outcome card can summarize where a pattern seems to lead if relevant conditions continue. It cannot guarantee an event or tell you what another person will choose.
- Name the present pattern that the card appears to describe.
- Consider what could disrupt or complicate that pattern: Reversed, the terms of that bargain may become harder to ignore. A moment of recognition is useful, but freedom grows through changed conditions and choices rather than a declaration alone.
- Identify a choice that remains open to you: Name the immediate reward, the later cost, and one way to interrupt the loop.
