The Five of Swords asks what a victory costs. A dispute may be won in a way that damages trust, cooperation, or your own standards. Examine the terms of the contest before deciding that remaining in it is the only strong response.
Read the card against the connection you can observe, including the choices both people are making.
Reversed, there may be room to stop the contest and repair its effects, or resentment may be continuing after the argument ends. A truce needs more than exhaustion.
