Read a direction, then examine its conditions

The Two of Wands considers the territory beyond a familiar position. You have enough footing to think strategically about the next move. Compare a larger possibility with the real commitments it would require, then decide what you are prepared to pursue.

Use an outcome position responsibly

An outcome card can summarize where a pattern seems to lead if relevant conditions continue. It cannot guarantee an event or tell you what another person will choose.

1. Name the present pattern that the card appears to describe.
2. Consider what could disrupt or complicate that pattern: Reversed, planning can become a comfortable substitute for leaving the starting point. The alternative is overreaching before understanding the distance between a vision and its first workable step.
3. Identify a choice that remains open to you: Choose a direction and identify the first commitment that distinguishes it from the alternatives.
