Read a direction, then examine its conditions
The Hermit steps away from distraction to pursue a particular question. This is purposeful solitude, with a lamp directed at what needs understanding. Advice may help, but some conclusions require enough quiet to hear your own considered response.
Use an outcome position responsibly
An outcome card can summarize where a pattern seems to lead if relevant conditions continue. It cannot guarantee an event or tell you what another person will choose.
- Name the present pattern that the card appears to describe.
- Consider what could disrupt or complicate that pattern: Reversed, reflection may have turned into hiding, or constant company may be preventing it entirely. Ask whether time alone is producing clarity you can bring back into life.
- Identify a choice that remains open to you: Give one question uninterrupted attention and write the conclusion you are ready to test.
