The Hanged Man as Outcome

Read a direction, then examine its conditions

The Hanged Man interrupts the assumption that forward motion is always the answer. A deliberate pause can reveal what you miss from your usual position. Letting go here means loosening a particular approach, not giving up every form of agency.

Use an outcome position responsibly

An outcome card can summarize where a pattern seems to lead if relevant conditions continue. It cannot guarantee an event or tell you what another person will choose.

1. Name the present pattern that the card appears to describe.
2. Consider what could disrupt or complicate that pattern: Reversed, waiting may have become indefinite, or you may be resisting a pause that would change your perspective. Ask what the delay is teaching and when you will review it.
3. Identify a choice that remains open to you: Set the problem aside briefly, then describe it from another person's position.
